Overview

Moderate to brisk paced 22.1km/13.7 mile walk with a long ascent up onto Seaford Head at the start... but rewarding sea and Downland views! About 5.5 hours actual walking. 

Route: from the station to the seafront, then east along the promenade and up onto and across Seaford Head, down to Cuckmere Haven and following the Vanguard Way to Exceat; South Downs Way to Litlington and Alfriston (lunch); then SDW onto the South Downs and over Bostal Hill and Firle Beacon to Firle, farm tracks and lanes to Glynde. 

Lunch Stop: Alfriston - pubs or cafés  (after 11.6 km/7.2 mi). 

Refreshments at end of walk: Steamworks in Glynde Station or the re-opened Trevor Arms.

Meet at Seaford Station at 11.20. 

Travel: Victoria 09.54/ Clapham Junction 10.01/East Croydon 10.10  - Orr train - changing at Lewes (arr 10.56) to 11.00 Seaford train.

Ticket/Fare: Buy Off-Peak Day Return to Seaford. 

Finish: Glynde Station (tea and pub options)  - trains at xx16 (changing at Lewes) or xx19 (changing at Polegate) .
