This varied walk through the beautiful wooded glen of the Hermitage is particularly impressive in autumn.
We’ll walk beneath some of the tallest Douglas firs in Britain, wander along the banks of the picturesque River Braan, pause to admire the spectacular, thunderous Black Linn Falls, and breathe in the earthy scent of woodland and the sharp tang of pine needles - a real treat for all the senses.
As the route continues, the trail becomes quieter, winding further up the glen toward the dramatic Rumbling Bridge. From there, the path opens out into more expansive countryside, offering some very attractive views.
