Overview

This gently undulating walk, mainly on paths and tracks, explores the attractive countryside to the east of Hermitage. Much of the route passes through the varied woodland of the Eling Estate. Starting from Hermitage Village Hall, we initially head in a generally easterly direction through Little Hungerford to Birch Cottage and Birch Farm. We then turn south along the edge of Box Wood and follow Burntbush Lane for a while, before heading SW to Brockhurst School, where we will stop for a mid-walk break in St Mary's Marlston churchyard.  We then head back through Fence Wood, Grimsbury Wood and Pheasant Hill Wood.
