We will set off towards and through the Wind Farm on Black Hill heading over to join the Southern Upland Way briefly. From this high vantage point, there are stunning views in all directions. The walk then descends through farmland and circles back towards Duns, using a path forged by walkers that avoids the fallen trees in Jeanie's Wood. We will then head back towards our start point on paths through the trees at first coming out to see yet more views; this time across to the Cheviots.
There were cattle on the recce. Additionally, if the cows with young calves are still in one of the fields, there is a parallel route that does require climbing one fence.
The ground is uneven in a few short stretches of the walk. There are some stiles to climb. Poles and boots recommended.
Duns has parking and cafés.
Circular walk, grade B, moderate. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.
