The walk starts from the Hinton Arms pub on A272 at Cheriton. The morning section is 5 miles and takes us through Hinton Ampner park towards Bramdean and back through Joan's Acre wood where we hope the bluebells will be out and where we will stop for coffee. The afternoon section is 3 miles, heading over towards Cheriton and back over to Hinton Ampner. There was plenty of mud on the pre-walk on certain paths so we must hope it has dried up a bit by then.
The pub will be open from 10 a.m. for you to pre-order lunch and use the facilities. Please be prompt as we would like to leave by 10.15.
Park at the top end of the car park, nearest their stable block and car share if you can. Don't park down near the pub as they like to keep this for regular customers and people with mobility issues.
Let me know by using the email link above that you are coming by 6 p.m. Wed evening as the pub would like to know numbers. If you only wish to do half the walk, make that clear - as well as whether you intend to eat at the pub. I imagine we will start the afternoon section between 1.30 and 2 so aim for the earlier time just in case.
Bring drinks, snacks, as you feel appropriate, and walking poles may be useful if you usually use them - helpful in the mud! If you wish to have a picnic lunch, we will leave you in the park on our way back to the pub and you can then walk down and join us when you've finished , ready for the afternoon.
