Overview

This is a circular walk heading North from Church Oakley through undulating Hampshire countryside mainly on footpaths traversing farmland and woodland - with spectacular far-reaching views. We will pass the beautiful Malshanger Park en route to Hannington where we'll stop for picnic lunch on the village green before heading back South to the startpoint.

Good news is that there are no stiles BUT some of the paths are quite nettley so it is worth covering legs adequately! Poles are not essential at any point but please use if wished as some of the ground is a bit stoney or rutted.

This is a picnic walk so bring all required refreshments with you. There is a pub in Hannington which opens from 12 noon - so it might be possible to use their facilities if buying a drink perhaps?

The start point is 25mins drive from Winchester so I strongly recommend car-sharing - am happy to assist in the arrangements if necessary so please let me know if you want to share.

Please contact the leader in advance as we may leave early if all expected are present

Parking is in Rectory Road , Church Oakley, between the church and St Leonard's Centre/Preschool. The road is wide enough for cars along one side BUT I see there is a Communion Service in the church at 10 that morning so best to arrive reasonably early or park a little further along the road. The walk starts along a footpath directly opposite the church.
