Take in the beauty of the local environment and how people have shaped it over thousands of years. A long country walk at a moderate pace.
Join us for a long walk through the beautiful landscapes south of Winchester. People have lived and worked here for millenia and we'll be exploring some of the obvious and hidden changes to the natural environment - such as iron age camps, water meadows and the Navigation.
After climbing St Catherines Hill for lovely views across the Valley, we follow the crystal clear Itchen Navigation to Twyford, before returning to the cathedral.
We'll pause for a "coffee break" and lunch, so bring a snack, drink and picnic lunch to enjoy on the way. There are no planned stops at pubs, cafés or shops.
Note there is a steep climb and descent to and from St Catherine's Hill.
