This walk is packed with contrasts: paths through attractive city streets and country landscapes of the Itchen valley.
The walk links religious and traditional paths, urban landscapes, and countryside with hill, meadow, and chalk stream vistas.
Starting from the cathedral, the route passes flint stone walls to Christchurch Road, showcasing historical and visually pleasing properties dating from the 18th to modern 20th century architecture. The walk continues along the Clarendon Way, which links Salisbury and Winchester, and leads to the Hospital of St Cross. The path then heads back to the cathedral past St Catherine's Hill to the Cathedral Close.
We're not planning a refreshment break on this walk, but we recommend you bring something to drink along the way.
