This is a circular walk from Castleton to Hope enjoying the surroundings and history of this lovely part of the Peak District. We begin with a visit to the Odin lead mine and continue through woods to ascend to Hollins Cross. The ascent is on a good even path. We will then walk below the edge to our coffee stop next to the woods.
The walk continues towards Losehill farm and then descends to Hope.
After lunch we will take the field paths back to Castleton and enjoy good views of our day’s walk.
Good footwear is needed as some of the paths are rocky.
Walking poles will help especially for the descent.
You will also need food and drinks.
There are toilets at the car park.
IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER PLEASE CONTACT THE WALK LEADER ON THE MORNING OF THE WALK.
