A walk from the old quarry at Swardon to Mordiford where we meet part of the Dragon Trail. Passing through another quarry at Scutterdine with ancient limestone layers and an adjacent lime kiln we reach the Three Choirs Way which takes us to Broadmoor Common nature reserve. We head north to Checkley and then, via Backbury Hill we return through delightful woodlands to the start.
Meet up to car share at Wilton Road Car Park at 09-15.
Park at Swardon Quarry (car sharing is recommended). Make your way to Prior’s Frome via Hereford or Fownhope. From Prior’s Frome take the signed Checkley - Woolhope Road and after 600m, the lay-by is on the right at the top of the rise, as the road bends to the left. Please note: The post code is not exact for this car park.
