Overview

A delightful, if at times somewhat strenuous, walk in the Black Mountains. From the meet point at Crickhowell High School Car Park (honesty box donations requested) we will make a steady climb to just below Table Mountain to rest for a coffee break and take in the magnificent views (weather permitting). The climb up to Pen Cerrig-calch is the most strenuous section of the day but well worth it as there then follows a steady walk along the magnificent ridge to Pen Allt-mawr (including lunch stop) and Pen Twyn Glas. The descent to Neuadd-fawr Farm can be steep in places. Following a short road walk, we then make the final ascent towards Table Mountain using the Beacons Way Path and we return to Crickhowell via an alternative route than the morning's climb.
