Overview

We start the walk heading out from Hurst Green in the direction of Stonyhurst College. As we leave the college behind we head down steep steps towards the River Hodder. Following the river to Cromwell Bridge we leave the Hodder and head to Winkley Hall rejoining the river as is becomes the River Ribble. The well trodden path of the Tolkien Trail leads us along the river up through the woods and back to the Shireburn arms at Hurst Green.
