Overview

Starts at Ightham Mote car park - free for National Trust members, £3 for non-members.  Meet by the pay machine in the new car park (follow signs Additional Parking).  The nearby toilets generally open about 09:50.  The route drops down from Ightham Mote through Fairlawne Park to Shipbourne.  The fields just after Shipbourne could be muddy.  The walk then stays low and pretty flat (apart from a number of stiles) through Barr Wood to Underriver.  In the afternoon we pass Underriver House to Budd's Green where we climb steadily up to the Greensand Way and follow that back to the start. The lunch stop is at the White Rock Inn, Underriver or bring a picnic to eat in the grounds of the village hall.  The walk is on OS Explorer map 147.
