We are the York Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We start with a walk along the River Wharfe and then a gradual climb through woodland, grassland and farm roads up towards March Gill Reservoir, lunch at Fairy Dell and then a gradual descent back to the river with some road walking where caution is needed. Just three stiles.
Shorts are not advisable as there is heavy undergrowth, nettles and thistles in parts of the walk.

Catch the 09.19 Transpennine train from York station to Leeds arriving at 09.43, where we then catch the 10.03 train to Ilkley arriving at 10.31 to start the walk at 10.35.
Trains back from Ilkley to Leeds are every half hour and then we can get a connection back to York
An off peak day return is £17.85 with a railcard and £27.10 without.
