Overview

Walk Length:5.6km / 3.5mi

Difficulty: Leisurely

Walk Leader: Sam

Join us for a short evening walk around the Ivinghoe hills to watch the sunset from Ivinghoe Beacon.

This year's Mental Health Awareness week has the theme of "Movement: Moving more for your mental health". As we know that improving, or maintaining our mental health, is a key benefit of walking and a common reason why people walk with the Chiltern Young Walkers, we wanted to recognise this week with a series of evening walks from Monday the 13th to Friday the 17th May.

This will be just like any other walk we do, but we hope that by recognising MH Awareness Week with these extra walks we can help to break down any taboos around mental health and raise awareness of the benefits of walking - alone or with a group! So please do come along on one or more of these walks.

We will head from the car park downhill through Coombe wood before circling back around through farmland to climb up beacon hill to watch the sunset.

Please bring warm layers and a head torch as we will be standing around on an exposed hilltop watching the sunset and walking back to the car after dark.
