Overview

From Jedburgh we head north along the Jedwater path, then crossing the A68 we turn into woodland on farm tracks. We head along a quiet road before following a track through Lanton woods to find the ruins of Timpendean Tower. Retracing our steps the walk follows a woodland path coming out onto a quiet road with open views south over Jedburgh. Our return to the town is by Jedburgh Castle Jail, downhill to the Square.

Lots of historic places of interest and coffee shops in Jedburgh.

Walking boots and poles are advised depending on the weather.

Two stops for coffee/lunch.

High stile to climb by Timpendean Tower, possibility of cattle in the field.
