This is one of my favourite scenic local walks. There are some excellent views along a 12 mile route, with some enjoyable and varied terrain including part of the Cotswold Way, through some farmland, and along pretty tree-lined lanes. Assuming good visibility the plan is we will have TWO morning breaks to best enjoy the views, and will be having lunch when we get to St Mary’s church built by the Normans in Langridge. When we get back to the Cheese Shop there is an excellent cafe and they also sell cheese, chutneys etc.
There are some medium hills and one rather steep hill at mile 7 when we return towards the racecourse which we will take slowly, and I would suggest maybe bring poles. We will cross some stiles, and if it is raining the stone paths can get slippy. Some mud if wet. There are livestock in the fields sometimes. No dogs on this walk. Please bring appropiate weather apparel and drinks and snacks for breaks along with a packed lunch.
