A walk through typical Chiltern woodlands and pasture. In the morning we have a steady, but not difficult, climb and then we follow the Hertfordshire Way. There is a possibility of mud if there has been rain. We stop for lunch at the Green Dragon pub in Flaunden, after 5 miles. It serve mainly wood-fired pizzas panuozzos (warm sandwiches) and salads. Please email Annette by close on Tuesday 28 April if you want a pub lunch. The nearby churchyard has benches for those with picnics.
The afternoon walk is slightly longer than the morning and it includes some moderate hills. There is a possibility of tea in Chorleywood. There are several trains an hour back to central London, either Metropolitan Line or Mainline trains.
The toilets at both stations are only open when the booking offices are open, so it's advisable not to rely on them.
There are no Saturday buses from Flaunden, though you could book a cab to Chalfont and Latimer Station.
