A zig zag linear route starting from Largs train station and ending at Wemyss Bay via Knock Hill , Meigle and Skelmorie
From the station we meander uphill to the back of Largs onto the river pathways, open fields and narrow tracks and onto surrounding hills. We continue upwards avoiding crossing the deer fences, follow the undulating pathways then transverse across to join the signposted route to Knock Hill and onwards towards Wemyss Bay.
This is a moderately challenging B walk due to an approximate distance of 11.3 miles and very mixed terrain of boggy grasslands, forest trails, some short steepish ascents both on hills and tarmacked paths, and glorious muddy sections. There are a few small gates to climb.
The reward is the fabulous views of Largs and surroundings areas, and with luck the basking seals at Skelmorie
Boots and gaiters recommended and poles if used.
Acknowledge thanks to Gillian's Walks for suggested routes and Strathkelvin Ramblers for the walking support.
The walk begins and ends at the train stations so public transport is advisable.

There's a return train from Wemyss Bay to Glasgow but remember it doesn't go via Largs.
