Overview

This moderate walk starts in Leatherhead, passing by the town's museum based in a 17th-century cottage and the historic St Mary & St Nicholas Church. We'll then enjoy a steady climb up Leatherhead Downs, following the old Roman road of Stane Street, before descending into the charming village of Mickleham with its ancient church.  Here we stop for our picnic lunch, with the option of a drink at The Running Horse pub - opt-out point (bus to Leatherhead). The afternoon route takes us through the scenic Norbury Park before returning to Leatherhead along a tranquil stretch of the River Mole.
