We are the Sutton Coldfield Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A pleasant linear six mile walk starting in front of Lichfield City Railway Station, finishing at Shenstone Railway Station. The route follows the Heart of England Way through Lichfield and Beacon Park before diverging onto Pipe Green, Leomansley and Sloppy Wood. There is some road walking before the footpath enters farmland towards Pipe Grange and Pipehill. The route crosses the disused Wyrely & Essington Canal, then onto Wall, passing alongside the Roman ruins, and finally across farmland to Shenstone Railway Station. Refreshments available at the Railway Inn at the end of the walk.

Start at Lichfield City Railway Station. Walkers living in the Lichfield area can meet at the station, complete the walk and return to Lichfield by train ( £3.20 without a railcard). Walkers from the Sutton Coldfield area can meet at Wyndley at 09:00 and travel by car to Shenstone, parking £3.50 at the station, then catch the train to Lichfield, or get the train directly to Lichfield City, departing Sutton Coldfield 09:27 and return on the train from Shenstone. Directions to shenstone Railway Station: take the A5127. After Watford Gap roundabout, continue for 2 miles, turn left onto St John's Hill, then New Road. Station is on the left.
