Overview

From Kingston Station we make our way to Richmond Park via roads and then head to Isabella plantation when hopefully the Azaleas and Rhodeodendrons will be in bloom, the best flowering time is late April and early May but each season is slightly different.  There will be 20 to 30 minutes of free time to explore the plantation on your own or you can stay with the leader.  Afterwards we head up to the Pen Ponds kiosk and then the Royal Ballet School.  Our path then takes us to the north of Sidmouth Wood and to our lunch stop at Pembroke Lodge where there is a cafe, a kiosk and toilets. The gardens have plenty of seating for picnics.  We then head to Petersham and the Ham Avenues, skirting around Ham House to then rejoin the Avenues and head to the Thames and follow it to Canbury Gardens where our walk ends at The Boaters Inn.
