Description
This is a 7 mile C walk,
Initially walking along pavement to Linlithgow Bridge to join River Avon Heritage Trail. Gentle stroll along river and Kettletoun Mains, a nature reserve, through woodland until joining Union canal. Cross Avon Aqueduct and descend steps to Country Park to explore Sculpture Park, small farm. Climb back up 100 + steps to Union canal, cross Avon aqueduct and follow canal to Linlithgow.Toilets at Sainsbury’s at Linlithgow Bridge, courtyard at Country Park and at Newparks Farm. Donation box at Newparks mini farm, which is much improved post Covid with some lovely wee birds.
There are two sets of steps up to canal, one short, the other 100+ steps descent then 100+ steps ascent.
Bring gaiters if wet, and walking poles if you use them.
After the Walk
if you wish you may have have a coffee etc in the pub next to the car park following the walk

Currie Library Car Park. Directions. To Newbridge either by city bypass or Gogarburn/airport M9 to Stirling Exit Junction 3 for Linlithgow. Turn left A803. Drive through town centre along the High Street. West Port car park is just beyond the West Port Hotel on the right before the church. If you get to the roundabout, you have gone too far for either car park. Alternative parking if West Port full. Turn right A706 Bo’ness = St Ninian’s Road, 50m turn right to car park at bottom of hill.
