Overview

A linear walk from Llanbradach station to Hengoed station (after catching the train from Hengoed to Llanbradach). Leaving the station we follow footpaths through Llanbradach to walk alongside the Rhymney River. After crossing the river we start a long gradual ascent up to the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway, using a disused railway line, quiet roads and footpaths through fields, woods & moorland. As we gain height, on a clear day, panoramic views open up. We then descend back to Hengoed, passing over the Hengoed/Maesycwmmer Viaduct before reaching the station.
