We are the Pontypool Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join us for a brilliant walk in the Black Mountains. From the start point we ascend gently through fields to the intake wall path on Bryn Arw before descending into the hamlet of Stanton. We then climb steeply (which will be taken at a gentle pace) up a quiet lane for about 1/2 mile to a green lane which will take us back to Fforest Coalpit and the leader's house where mince pies will be available. A lift will then be available to the start point 3/4 mile away to collect the cars.
On this walk there are excellent views of the surrounding hills. If the weather is against us the walk can be shortened and your packed lunch can be eaten at the leaders house. The mince pies will still on offer!
