Overview

An 8-mile circular walk from Llangollen via Castell Dinas Brân, Valle Crucis Abbey, Velvet Hill, with a brief detour to Horseshoe Falls, returning via the Llangollen Canal. This is a walk with plenty of historical interest and wonderful views of the Dee valley, the Llantysilio range, the Berwyns and the Eglwyseg Escarpment, using both Offa's Dyke path and the Clwydian Way. There is a steep ascent to Castell Dinas Bran, but the views will be worth it.

There are tearooms at the Abbey Farm caravan park for refreshments, or in Llangollen at the end of the walk.
