We are a very active and friendly Ramblers group. Our programme explores the most attractive countryside in the surrounding area including the Surrey Hills.
We will go to Kingston by train. Train from Staines 09.38, Ashford 09.41 arrives Twickenham 09.53. Change to platform 5 to catch the 10.03 to Kingston arriving at 10.16. Then walk for about 5 minutes to Kingston Bridge. The Roebuck pub in Hampton Hill will serve food in the form of rolls. This is a flat, easy walk starting at Kingston Bridge and continuing via Bushy Park, David Lloyd Golf Centre and Crane Park. There will be a coffee stop at the Pheasantry Cafe in Bushy Park and a pub/picnic lunch at the Roebuck Pub in Hampton Hill. We can take a short diversion in Crane Park by the Shot Tower to go around the island which is a nature reserve and also contains remains of the gunpowder factory which used to be here.
