After leaving the Bird in Hand pub car park we head along the Monarch's toward Mill Copse. The walk then goes west towards Pitt Hill Lane and the to Pitthill farm. We then head east along the north of Denmead back to Lovedean. The walk is very muddy with a lot of standing water so boots/wellies and poles are recommended. There are a few hills, eight stiles and several fields with cows/horses. Due to one lane being completely flooded I have had to increase the length of the walk to 5.7 miles (with one extra hill to climb) to divert around this lane.
