Our walk begins in Lower Failand, beside Bartholomew's Church, which was constructed between 1883 and 1887. From here, we follow the road briefly before descending a relatively steep footpath. This leads back to a road, where we head towards Mulberry Farm. The route then takes us off onto a muddy woodland track through East Tanpit Wood. After this stretch, we start to turn around and join the Gordano Round Trail, a route that features a mixture of open footpaths and woodland areas. Extra caution is required along this section, as it can become very muddy. There is a short, steep ascent before reaching open fields. Here we cross the road and continue towards Failand Hill House. Following another brief section of road, we proceed to Barn Plantation. This area may also be muddy, especially at this time of year. We then cross Portbury Lane, a noticeably busier road, and make our way to Higher Farm and Charlton Park Farm. At this point, we temporarily leave the Gordano Round. The walk continues across fields, picking up on the Gordano Round again for a short stretch, before returning to fields and paths back to our starting point.
There are a few stiles along the route. Walking poles and gaiters are recommended, given the muddy conditions in places.
