This circular walk is a familiar one for the walk leader taking in local area around Nailsea and Backwell. However, on this day we will walk much of the route in reverse!
Initially, we leave Backwell and head over fields towards the lengthy up hill stretch of Tap’s Coombe. Steep in places, this woodland trail takes us up above Backwell and Chelvey Batch with views of the airport, the local villages and over towards The River Severn.
A coffee stop and lunch break mid walk (The Jubilee Stone,) before the route wanders down through woodland and we return to our cars.
The walk is a mix of recognised trails, fields and woodland. Be prepared for mud and some livestock in places. Mostly gates rather than stiles.
Please book onto the walk with the leader.
Telephone 07504855073
Please bring water, coffee and a packed lunch for stops along the way.
There is coffee shop close to walk end (optional.)
Assistance dogs only. Please telephone the walk leader in advance if you intend to bring an assistance dog. Thank you.
The start point is along the A370 in Backwell village (West Town Road) and close to bus stops. Arrive in good time for the 10.00 am start.
