It's three years since the official launch of the Magnificent 11, Glasgow's 11-mile waymarked circular linking some stunning greenspaces in the south of the city. And this year to mark the anniversary we're going rogue. We're doing the complete route backwards.
If you've done the Mag 11 tons of times, this will give you a totally new perspective. If you've never done it, this is a great chance to join us as we take in all the highlights of the walk, just round the other way.
The route starts and finishes at the entrance to Linn Park on Netherlee Road. It climbs up through parks and woodland, crosses fields and farmland and snakes back to the start along the banks of the White Cart River. At times there is a real sense of being a long way from Glasgow's largest city.
It's a varied and undulating walk with some pretty steep sections, including a climb up to Cathkin Braes from where there are the best views across the city and beyond.
The walk is a real mix of terrain. Come prepared for a few steep climbs and rough, woodland paths as well as some pavements and more easy-going paths. The terrain can be muddy and boggy. Walking boots are essential.
