Overview

Start by walking through the village and taking a footpath to the old waterworks.

Then Right to the road and left on a footpath through fields to Wing.

Through the village to footpath on the right and then over the railway

After that we take different paths to Wing and Manton.

The walk is muddy and slippery in places. Some of the uphill sections are steep. Poles are advised. 

There are cattle in one field and some fields with sheep so dogs on a short lead please.

There are two stiles

The walk should take about 2.5 hours. The Horse & Jockey will be open at the end of the walk for those wishing to have something to drink - or indeed lunch

Please consider car sharing arrangements with other members to reduce the pressure on parking spots at the start of the walk.

Horse & Jockey pub, St Mary's Rd). Please park courteously on St Mary’s Road or Stocks Hill (not in the pub car park). If any difficulties, there is plenty of room on the verge of Lodge Lane. When turning off the main road (A6003) onto Lyndon Road, Lodge Lane is the first turn on the right (quiet lane because it is essentially a dead end).
