Overview

We will walk up Low Lea Rd to Bottoms Hall. We then go uphill on a long rough track to Linnet Clough Scout Centre. Through Mellor golf course then slightly uphill again to Higher Cliff farm. (fresh eggs for sale £1.50) It is now downhill to Brooks Bottom. We join the Goyt Way & go down a long rough track to Strines railway station. It is now good tracks along River Goyt to Roman Lakes & back downhill on Low Lea Rd.

There are 3 long gentle inclines on the 1st half of this walk, but we will take these at a gentle pace with stops where necessary. Two tracks are quite rough so sturdy boots & poles needed. No stiles.

As we may take a few stops on the ascent, to admire the lovely views, we may not return to the car park until 1.30pm.
