If you fancy a bit of a longer walk but without too many ascents, this is the one for you!
Starting in the lovely village of Monyash, we will walk along the dry Bradford Dale and into Lathkill Dale where the water emerges from underground. We will skirt the villages of Allport and Yougreave along the River Bradford - a wide and beautiful river with a natural swimming spot. Climbing out of the dale through the picturesque village of Middleton, we will take the Limestone Way, crossing the steep Cales Dale before taking fields and woodland back to Monyash.
Refreshments afterwards available at the Bull's Head pub of the Old Smithy cafe.
Total ascent is 400m and the walking is moderately easy but there are a couple of steep ascents and a short steep descent where poles might be useful.
The Old Smithy Cafe in Monyash is usually open at 9am on weekends. There are no toilets at the start but there is one after a mile's walking.
As usual, please contact the leader, if you'd like to join the walk.
Dogs, known to the Leader, may come on this walk but would need to be on a short lead as there are likely to be pregnant sheep in the fields.
