Overview

Starting from the station we head over the river and then start climbing , its quite steep but on the lane with a good surface - the first mile is all uphill but we then reach the open land and the views make it all worthwhile. We then continue, on the mountain side, in a north westerly direction towards Cwmbach there are a few ups and downs but nothing too taxing. Then when we are above Cwmbach we drop down into the high hidden valley that hids the village of Cefnpennar. Its now a gradual descent back into Mountain Ash. We will stop for a much deserved coffee break after the first climb and then have lunch before we ascend. This is a shortish walk but the ascent will add to the overall time.
