This is the second in the mountain fitness series of five walks aimed at improving fitness and stamina. Each walk is progressively longer and faster. This series of walks has plenty of steep ascents and descents along with a quick/fast pace.
Bring packed lunch. Pub stop for drinks only. Optional pub at the end for drinks and/or dinner.
Devil’s Eight starts in the picturesque villages of Hassocks and Ditchling but quickly takes us into the south downs and up the infamous Ditchling Beacon. We drop off the downs and climb up again a few times during the day for stunning views and a total ascent of about 945 metres.
As with all of our strenuous walks, this is not recommended for your first walk with us. If you are a regular member or if you enjoyed the first walk of the series, but want something longer, faster and hillier then this would be a good one to join.
Terrain: Steep hills, farms, muddy paths, chalk downs
