Overview

We follow steep woodland paths & bridleways up to The Chart, Scords Wood & Toys Hill, stopping for a short break at the site of Weardale Manor where we may have views across four counties.

With more than 1000ft of ascent this is, by our standards, quite a challenging walk with several sharp inclines, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed. Sections will be muddy - walking boots and poles are recommended.

Please arrive in good time for the walk briefing at 0950hrs in the 'Additional' parking section (north end of car park away from the NT buildings). We will set off at 1000hrs.
