This is an absolutely stunning walk. After quiet lanes and field paths the route rises to the flat top of Norton Hill where red kites whirl and skylarks twitter in the broad skies above. The descent from the summit offers long views of the Severn plain and the whale back of the Malvern Hills stretching along the horizon, before reaching the banks of the Rivern Severn at the bottom. The route then continues through water meadows and alongside a fast-flowing brook before returning to the starting point. And all this with very little challenge: the hill is brief – and despite its wonderful views – not very high. Almost the whole of the walk is on the flat, and there are very few stiles, almost all of them being the step through type. (Only two need clambering over)
