Walkers must book in advance with the walk leader
After a scenic railway journey, we’ll walk to Ganavan Bay, along the beach and coastal path to Dunstaffnage Castle & Chapel.
Description: We travel by train to Oban and then walk along the minor road to Ganavan. From Ganavan the road changes to a path which we follow along the shore to Dunstaffnage Castle & Chapel.
We will catch the 09:07 train from Helensburgh Upper, arriving in Oban at 11:27 and return on the 18:11 train from Oban, arriving in Helensburgh Upper at 20:37.
We intend to visit Dunstaffnage Castle & Chapel, so Historic Scotland members should bring their membership cards.
It is hoped to have sufficient time, after the walk, for a meal before leaving Oban.
