Join us for a relaxed and scenic 7-mile circular walk through Windsor Great Park, starting at 10:15 am from the main gate on Bishopsgate Road. I suggest people park in Ridgemead Road and make their own way round to the start point.
We’ll begin by entering the deer park, where you can enjoy views of the iconic Copper Horse statue on Snows Hill - keep an eye out for deer and red kites soaring overhead. Leaving the deer park, we’ll make our way towards the small, charming village within the park, pausing for a morning coffee break. Bring a flask, as the village shop will be closed, but there are plenty of benches around the playing fields to sit on and enjoy the surroundings.
After our break, the route takes us past a golf course and another equestrian statue, before heading towards Cumberland Lodge and the delightful Savill Gardens. Here, we’ll stop for a 45 minute lunch break— eat in the café or enjoy a picnic lunch at the picnic tables outside. The walk concludes with a short, pleasant stroll back to the Bishopsgate entrance.
Please pre-book before 7 pm the day beforehand by texting/calling the walk leader.
