Overview

Meet at 10:30 am at the main entrance on Bishopsgate Road for a relaxed walk through Windsor Great Park. We will pass Cow Pond and the Obelisk before heading towards the Valley Gardens to enjoy the early signs of spring—magnolias, camellias, daffodils, and the first rhododendrons coming into flower.

There will be an opportunity for a short morning break just before we enter the colourful Heather Gardens with flowers in full bloom. Bring a flask for an al fresco tea or coffee stop, or buy a drink from the refreshment kiosk at the entrance to the Heather Garden.

We will then wander through the Valley Gardens towards the footbridge that crosses the narrow end of Virginia Water Lake, before continuing to the totem pole and Savill Garden Café for an al fresco picnic lunch or a light lunch in the café.

After lunch, it is a short walk back to Bishopsgate.

Please pre-book before 7 pm the day beforehand by texting/calling the walk leader.
