In 1807 London became one of the first places in the world to have public street lighting lit by gas. Amazingly, there are still over 1,000 working gas lamps in the capital today. This walk visits some of the key areas of gas lighting around Smith Square, St James's, and Covent Garden, giving a glimpse back to a London of the past.
Optional: Please join us in the pub at the end of the walk for a drink and a chat.
