** The walk is open to all, the meal is for Take A Hike members only **
The walk:
Meet at Surprise View car park. From here we'll walk to the main footpath where we can take in the fantastic views of Lower Wharfedale. We'll then head East towards the Chevin Forest via The Dalesway Link. Once in the Forest, just before we get to Quarry Farm, we'll take a left down towards Caley Crags. We'll also have a little stop near Caley Crags to enjoy another stunning viewpoint. From here we'll pick up the Ebor Way before climbing back up to Surprise View car park. Please note that this final ascent is very steep. The paths could be muddy and slippy so please wear walking boots/trainers. Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome on this walk. Surprise View car park is a Leeds City Council pay and display car park where you can pay using the PayByPhone App. As you might have trouble getting signal, I'd recommend downloading this app in advance. If this car park is full, parking is available by the roadside. If you choose this option, please park respectfully to other road users. As this is a Christmas walk, festive clothing is encourged but not mandatory.
Christmas Lunch:
