Overview

A 10 mile moderate walk from Oxspring in the Upper Don Valley following the twists and turns of the river to Wortley with a few added twists and turns to take in views over the wooded valley. Lunch in Wortley with a pub and cafe available. Back through the village of Thurgoland.

Packed lunch required.

Oxspring Sports Field. From M1 junction 35a take A616 towards Stocksbridge. Take A629 through Wortley and Thurgoland. As you are leaving Thurgoland take the left fork onto B6462 Thurgoland Bank. After about a mile, park at Oxspring Sports Field which is on the left as you enter Oxspring. Parking is free. Meet at the car park entrance.
