Overview

A 11.5 mile leisurely to moderate walk through rolling countryside which takes in the Robin Hood Way and Southwell Trail. From the free car park on the Southwell Trail we head to nearby Edingley then it's uphill onto the Robin Hood Way which we follow to Halam, Westthorpe and Brackenhurst College. Heading downhill to Southwell a late lunch will be taken in the Minster grounds. Southwell has a good selection of pubs and cafes and toilets are available. After lunch we follow the Robin Hood Way through Southwell and the side of the River Greet then onto the Robin Hood Way/Southwell Trail which follows the old railway lane back to our start point

The post code should bring you to the entrance of the carpark but the entrance is not that obvious. Look out for a brown wooden sign board, Southwell Trail, on the right hand side of the road and turn right into a narrow twisty access road. Go past the old station and follow the access road for 50m to the car park. The car park is not large so car sharing is a good idea and we might have to double park.
