Overview

The morning walk follows the woodland above the Angidy River, returning along the river and the old iron works. It is 4 miles long with a 600ft ascent.

There is the option to bring a packed lunch and walk a further 6 miles, with a 900ft ascent, in the afternoon. The route crosses the Wye at Tintern, ascending to the Devil's Pulpit before following the Offa's Dyke path to cross the Wye at Brockweir and return along the river bank.

Park at the wireworks car park in Tintern. If travelling from Monmouth cross the Wye and turn right towards Redbrook. Continue on that road to Tintern. Turn right into Forge Road and the car park is on the right.
