Circular route starting at Cosmeston Lakes Country Park in front of the cafe, heading through Penarth up to its highest point at St Augustine's Church, before heading back along the coast path via Marconi point. We will hopefully have some good view over Cardiff Bay and the Severn Estuary, as well as taking in Penarth's Victorian era pier.
This walk is mostly flat other than the steady climb up to the church. This walk is mostly on pavements and paths, but the last stretch of coast path is not and can be muddy if it has been wet. There is an option to cut out this last stretch of coast path and head straight back to Cosmeston, which we may do depending on the time we take.
Dogs are welcome but are not permitted on Penarth Pier.
