Overview

The walk starts from the Prinknash Abbey car park with a very brief talk on the long and surprising history of the Prinknash site. (Note later start to allow for opening of Abbey car park at 10.00 a.m.) Much of the walk is fairly flat, along firm surfaces but there are some brief steep sections and mud will make an occasional appearance if there has been recent rain. The walk meanders through the Abbey estate and along woodland tracks and open land including the beacon itself. There are some stupendous views. Three stiles.
