Take A53 from Leek. You will pass the Three Horshoes Hotel on the left before you see a left turn signed "Upper Hulme". Travel through the small parade of aging business units in the village on a single track meandering lane until you reach the well known tea rooms. You can park in the Paddock for £2.00. The entrance is on the left immediately before the tea rooms.
Please let the walk leader know if you are intending to join us. It ensures that we don't leave without you. If you're from another group then please leave your mobile number.
We start from the CP and head up path next to a stream to Ramshaw Rocks, with a bit of a scramble, until we reach a good viewpoint above the A53. In the distance is the famous "Cheshire Matterhorn", Shutlinsloe and we come down off the Rocks keeping this distant feature in site as we make our way across the moor to Gradbach for lunch. Luds Church is a chasm which we pass through on way to approaching a ridge walk across to the foot of The Roaches (and an Ice Cream Van!) Here we ascend to the Trig point and follow this excellent sandstone ridge walk back to the Car Park.
