Big skies and far-reaching views across this expanse of water, salt marsh and mud flats. Popular with wading birdlife. From the town of Pontarddulais, we soon find ourselves amongst reed beds as we follow the Loughor river to the site of the "Old Church on the Marsh", now at St. Fagans. Following the estuary's eastern margin across salt marshes and fields we work our way down to Loughor Castle. A short hop across the Loughor bridge and we find our cars at the Lewis Arms.
Ride and Ramble: Using our local public transport system, an occasional series combining the freedom of a point-to-point walk with the adventure of a bus or train ride.

Largely flat with easy walking, but can be wet and muddy in places, so good boots and walking poles advised.
Not suitable for dogs, except assistance dogs, as lambing season.
