We walk the edges of fields behind the houses then go up the concrete track to Coppice Wood, where mustard gas bombs were filled and stored by USAAF in WW2. Part of the wood is still fenced off due to contamination.
Bypassing that we take field edges and a cross-field path to Melchbourne. We then pass through Hillands Plantation and Worley's Wood, taking tracks towards the Activity Centre (pops and bangs will probably be heard) and follow a field edge and track back to the village and the offerings of the Fox and Hounds.
